Chicago White Stockings, after the nickname abandoned by the Cubs, and the name was soon shortened to Chicago White Sox. The NL actually gave permission to the AL to put a team in Chicago, provided he not use the city name in the team's branding. Comiskey moved his St. Paul club to the Near South Side and renamed it the White Stockings, grabbing a nickname that had once been used by the Chicago Cubs. Conclusion: the REAL Chicago MLB team IS the Chicago Cubs White Sox go back to Sioux City, Iowa and to the guy that says wrigley is filled with old people YOU TOO ARE GROWING OLD!! you dont like it get out of wrigleyville and go back south die hard Cubs Fan and will always stick up for them win or lose. Cubs are Chicago!
